Callings is a web series produced by the Christian Associates of Southwest Pennsylvania that celebrates those who’ve answered yes to the call to serve Christ’s church and love God’s people. Recently, our Vice President of Education and Program Development, Oliver Stedeford, sat down to discuss Glade Run’s calling to serve children, families and adults through lifelong learning.
Watch the Director of Spiritual Care Pastor Margarethe and Labyrinth Advocate Brandon McCormick on Lutherans Alive discuss our Labyrinth at the Zelienople campus.

Labyrinth Open to the Public
After years of planning, the Glade Run Labyrinth was completed and commissioned in early June. Staff, children, friends, family and volunteers collaborated to create a place of peace and reflection not just for the children and families in our care, but for the staff of Glade Run and the community as well.
Glade Run has an immediate need for children’s bibles for youth participating in our spiritual care program. New and gently used children’s bibles are being cheerfully accepted! For more information, please contact Sr. Mildred McCrackin at 724.452.4453, ext. 1190 or 1160.
“A water bearer in India served his master by totting water from the stream to his master’s home. He carried the water in two pots that hung on either end of a pole balanced across his shoulders.
One of the pots had a crack in it; the other pot was perfect. The perfect pot always delivered a full portion of water from the stream, while the cracked pot always arrived at the master’s house only half full.
For a full two years this went on, every day the water bearer delivering one full and one half-full measures of water to the mater’s home. Naturally the full pot was proud of its service, perfect to the end for which it had been made. But the cracked pot was unhappy; ashamed of its imperfection, miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do.

Dear friends:
So often the word “change” has a negative connotation. A need to change diets implies poor health. Changing schools or homes can signify loss of friends, teachers, and neighbors.
At Glade Run, we view change as an opportunity. Just as many of us change jobs or careers in an effort to grow and expand our areas of expertise, Glade Run Lutheran Services views the changes at Glade Run in a positive light.
